For Immediate Release

DAVIS, W. Va., Oct. 22, 2018 – The Canaan Valley Resort Girlfriends Getaway Weekend is back, and just like last year, participants will find a variety of ways to relax and have fun with friends before the bustle of the holidays.

The Girlfriends Getaway Weekend Nov. 9-11 includes an all-level yoga class, Paint & Sip session, guided hike and educational presentation about the trees and edible plants of the region.

In addition to the scheduled activities girlfriend groups can venture to the nearby towns of Davis and Thomas -- acclaimed in a recent New York Times story about West Virginia’s small-town revival. The towns offer an array of microbreweries, galleries and stores, coffee shops and restaurants. A centerpiece of the town of Thomas is the Purple Fiddle, popular among locals and visitors alike for its live music. There is also horseback riding, hiking, waterfalls and wildlife watching nearby.

The getaway also includes lodging, two breakfasts and access to the Beech Club with a hot tub, indoor pool and fitness center.

Pricing for the three-day, two-night retreat begins at $196 per person based on double occupancy. There’s also a one-night option on Saturday that includes the plant and tree presentation, Paint & Sip event and Sunday morning yoga class and breakfast beginning at $124 per person based on double occupancy.

“Get that group text started and invite your friends to laugh, play, relax and make memories during a special mountain escape,” said Steve Drumheller, general manager of the state park resort. “With the all-level yoga class, educational and creative activities, the weekend is the perfect trifecta of fun for the mind, body and spirit.”

The Girlfriends Getaway Weekend is one of the many special events scheduled at the four-season resort throughout the year. To make reservations or learn about other special offers visit the website or call 1-800-622-4121.
