Douglas Falls - Blackwater Canyon Hike

This 10-mile trek begins at the abandoned coke ovens, passes Douglas Falls, continues along the North Fork Blackwater River, and follows the main river through Lindy Point before descending into the canyon via a hardwood forest.

This 10-mile trek begins at the abandoned coke ovens, passes Douglas Falls, continues along the North Fork Blackwater River, and follows the main river through Lindy Point before descending into the canyon via a hardwood forest.

This is a one-way hike with no turnaround points, offering a full-day adventure through one of Tucker County's most unique features. The average hiking time is approximately four hours.

What to Expect:
Distance: 10 miles
Elevation change: Approximately 1,290 feet
Terrain: Easy sections, gradual gravel decline.
Sturdy hiking boots or cross-country walking shoes are recommended.

Registration:
$20 for adults
$15 for children (ages 6–11)

Pre-registration is recommended. Participants may register Friday from 12:30 PM to 10 PM in the Beech Club at the Main Lodge.
